MCW Returns to PenFed Headquarters to Design-Build Collaborative and Low Voltage Solutions

ASHBURN, Va.—MCW today announced they will continue to work with Pentagon Federal Credit Union (PenFed) for the 7th and 8th floor build-out of their headquarters located at Tysons Overlook.

In the spring of 2016, PenFed and MCW began their journey together in Chantilly, Virginia with audiovisual (AV) upgrades for multiple conference rooms and executive offices. Following successful delivery of the Chantilly location, MCW continued to work with PenFed at Tysons Overlook, focusing on the eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh floors of the 57-room headquarters. Familiar with Tysons Overlook after building out the Logistics Management Institute’s (LMI) 165,000-square-foot headquarters, MCW was a great fit to consult PenFed on their technology needs.

Today, MCW returns to Tysons Overlook to focus on the seventh floor and remainder of the eighth floor. The integrator’s primary goal is to meet PenFed’s collaboration needs in a way that works within the confines of the building’s modern architectural design. “Helping PenFed achieve their mission-critical goals is a top priority for MCW,” said Ghattas Hajjo, president and co-founder of MCW. “We understand how important remote video conferencing and collaboration is to their growing organization and are excited to be the technology partner chosen to help meet those needs.”

On the seventh floor, MCW has designed and will build AV solutions for various huddle rooms, conference rooms and a game room. Each huddle room will feature a wall-mounted 55” display with wireless laptop connectivity for presenting. Two of the huddle rooms, as well as numerous conference rooms, will feature 4K interactive monitors with integrated electronic whiteboards for brainstorming between local and remote participants. Additionally, PenFed will be able to collaborate around the globe utilizing standards-based applications consistent with deployed soft and hardware codecs, through a mini PC and USB camera.

In the game room, two wall-mounted 70” 4K monitors will provide staff entertainment through either CATV or game console connectivity. These monitors will also support wireless presentation and will be controlled by software-driven, wall-mounted touch panels.

Moving up to the eighth floor, MCW has designed and will build a multi-purpose room to be used for training and larger-scale video conferencing. This room will feature a 4 x 2 (dual 110” diagonal) nearly seamless video wall capable of three modes of operation: dual display, single display and digital signage. In addition to the video wall, MCW will provide a collaboration platform internal to the room, which will also allow the users to share their content from a 65” interactive 4K monitor with the same integrated electronic whiteboard functionality that exists in the abovementioned conference rooms.

All rooms will be equipped with room scheduling panels featuring a bi-color LED to indicate room status. PenFed will be able to book meeting rooms via Outlook or at an individual panel itself. Finally, MCW will provide all structured cabling needs for each floor, including Cat6, Cat6A and 10GX series connectivity.
