MCW Named as Finalist for CREW DC Award
ASHBURN, Va.—MCW Solutions (MCW) today announced that the Washington, D.C. chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) has selected Anthology Apartments as a finalist for the CREW DC 2017 Placemaking Award. The CREW DC Placemaking Award “recognizes a team who worked together on a development, major renovation or redevelopment project that demonstrates excellence in functionality, aesthetics and relationship to surroundings.”
Anthology Apartments, located on H Street in downtown Washington D.C., was purchased and redeveloped by Jair Lynch Real Estate Partners as part of a mixed-use development plan on the entire H street corridor. MCW was brought on to design and deliver a turnkey technology solution for the 307-unit complex including security, audiovisual and network systems. Spaces covered in MCW’s solution include the pool/outdoor theater, reception area, fitness center, resident lounge and entertainment kitchen.
“We are honored to have been part of the H Street revitalization team,” said Ghattas Hajjo, president and co-founder of MCW. “Jair Lynch has been a great partner to MCW, allowing us to contribute our expertise to innovative and forward thinking designs such as Anthology. We look forward to continued partnership in the future.”
The security system that MCW delivered provides tenant access control for the garage, main entrances and each apartment via key pads as well as electronic and magnetic locks. Additionally, all apartments are equipped with glass break sensors on each window and a temperature detector in case of emergency. The entire complex is protected by overhead PTZ and 360 degree HD cameras as well as an intrusion alarm system and motion detectors.
MCW’s audiovisual design-build includes a five-zone sound system, enabling independent source selection and volume adjustment capabilities for the reception area, the lounge, the fitness room, entertainment kitchen and the pool/outdoor theater. Speakers installed in the pool/outdoor theater area are waterproof and built to withstand the outdoor elements.
In the reception area, MCW provided a projector to display digital signage from the reception desk. Additionally, HD displays of varying size were mounted in each of the above-mentioned areas not including the outdoor theater, where MCW provided a multipurpose room with surround sound and a projector for video playback projected onto an outdoor wall.
User control of all system functions were integrated into a unified remote control system, available through a 7-inch touch screen panel that offers source selection and control of each audio zone, television and projector.
The 2017 CREW DC Award winners will be announced September 28, 2017 in the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington D.C.
