MCW Hosts Sold-Out Golf Tournament in Support of Autism
ASHBURN, Va.—On Monday, September 12, MCW hosted its 11th annual charity golf tournament in support of autism. Since the event’s inception, MCW has worked diligently to raise awareness and the necessary funds for autism programs and the autism community as a whole. This year, MCW saw more participation than ever before and was able to raise almost $50,000 in net proceeds for Pathfinders for Autism.
Pathfinders for Autism is a Maryland-based organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals with autism and their families. Autism affects 1 in 68 children in the U.S. today. In Maryland, over 8,827 children in the public schools are diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and there are thousands more adults in the State in need of services and support.
“We are proud of what we have accomplished and what it means for so many families and individuals affected by autism,” said Ghattas Hajjo, president and co-founder of MCW. “There are so many deserving organizations out there but the vision of Pathfinders for Autism really spoke to us and we’re honored to be able to contribute to their mission.”
MCW could not have put this event together without the help of generous sponsors and participants. Thank you to all those who supported the event, especially those who come out year-after-year to make MCW’s efforts more meaningful. You are the true heroes!
